*ggl* Black and white films used for the passing landscape for the train... "Ivory's End"... "I shall not forget them (the rules); I shall ignore them"... *ggl*

...

Edited to add: Awwww, Hyel, it's so CUTE! *G* But I was hoping for a little more between Cedric and Edward... *sigh*. They definitely hit all the movies and their cliches. Love the bitter butler, the fired maid who happily goes off to be a whore in London ("well, at least you have a family to help you"), and so on. Oh, and perhaps my favorite? "His dangly bits lack... our dignity". *L*!!! Not a laugh-a-minute (they didn't quite seem to hit a consistent tone, or a rich vein of parody), but definitely fun for those of us who watch too many of these films - *G*.

Fun stuff about the actors: Yes, I recognize Samuel West! He's been in several movies, including (ta-daaa!) "Van Helsing", where he plays Victor Frankenstein. Did you know he's the son of Prunella Scales (the actress who played the Aunt) and was in "Howard's End"? (I love www.imdb.com) And "George"? He's Sean Pertwee - yes, Cal, that's Jon Pertwee's son! (not bad looking, either!) Thanks for the rec, Hyel!

Edited later to add: And anime mecanique? There's Latin. And Greek. And hieroglyphics (*ggl*) And... and... a mention of Catullus!!!

Oh, I recognised him in Van Helsing! Gushed about it, too. Eee! I did not know he was the son of Prunella Scales, though. And dammit, now I have to see Howard's End!
