The most perfect photo of Billy ever made...
is by Ian Smith. Please go and see his other photos at: http://www.iansmith.co.uk/lotr/weblogs/Dec1st2003.htmI hope he doesn't mind if I just put this one up here, as an example (he does say not to put them on websites without his express permission; I don't know if that applies to LJ's as well). The expression, the lighting, the sharpness, the lighting, the expression... well, you get the picture. Oh, wait, no you don't - until I post it. *G* ...

| Oh, my word, you can practically reach into the computer and pull him through. That has to be the sharpest photo I've ever seen online. Well, one of them, anyhow. For some reason I now have the strongest urge to take on the exact same pose and look and just stare at my computer screen.
umm *shifty eyed* Fairy tales. Drawing. Right. *sigh* Right. *sketches* shee, you didn't see me here. ;) yeah, what she said, he actually looks as if he really is staring at you doesn't he?! Yee gods, that's beautiful!!!! I shouldn't be looking in here at work. Now my concentration is SHOT.... *stares at Billeh* From: | (Anonymous) |

don't you know how stupid it is to only think about these Lord of the Rings things...i mean long before the film existed i readthe books and now with the films even dumb people are fans of it...how ridiculous...And then idolise these actors..jezus fuck maaan, they're just actors justr human like us, an dtheir job is to act for millions of dollars;.ts'k tsk...and why some people ask to not use their pcs without permision? well, some people lmake beautiful Photographs called art and that's unique;.but just people who do not know anthing;.buh, they just do and think.
Dear, just calm down. There's no need to be putting other people down for what they are interested in. After all, we're not doing any harm.
And in case you haven't noticed, I'm a photographer as well - and for photographs like the one by Ian Smith, well, I do understand why they ask. The work is professionally done, and worthy of publication, and therefore, of protecting by copyright for purposes of collecting money. I was referring to many of the "snapshot" style photos that show up on the web with the "do not use" statement. As I said above, I hope Ian doesn't mind if I just put up one, since this is not a "website", and his policy says to not use these on "websites" without his permission.
And, please... it's very hard to understand your statements, especially the last one. If you do want people to take your statements seriously, it would be a good idea to proofread them before posting them.
Again, though... consider the following: "Live and let live". I respect this actor, as well as the photographer, and am posting this as a credit to them both. And I've loved and read the books every year for 30 years.
My pet peeve? People judging other people, and making baseless assumptions. I'm afraid you'll find both of those to be the case in your post. Take a deep breath, and think about it. *ignoring idiot*
It's a beautiful picture, no doubt, but no more so than the beautiful ones YOU'VE taken of Billy.
Yes, I'm biased.
But it's true. :) *G* Yes, you're biased. *G*
((((HC)))) Thank you dear! You know, I just can't look at this photo and not think about what he said recently... about his current relationship, and being "well and deeply loved" (hope I didn't get that wrong). It seems to show, doesn't it? Good for you, Billy! *slaps forehead*
And I forgot to add... credit for letting me know about the photo goes to One Cheeky Hobbit - thanks, Kay! *G* aha the tulips!!
:)
*runs to check Ian's other goodies* *applauds*
Yep!!! Good catch! *S* |
