Sorry, folks, a bit behind here...
So, let's do two photos! First, one of Dominic that I recently lightened up a bit, to improve it. By the way, the "dirt" on his fingers? That's gold ink on his knuckles, from signing. *S* I wonder if Perripip would want a closeup of his... hands?
Oh, and I want to finally talk about what it was like to meet these folks.
To be honest, I didn't feel comfortable trying to engage them in talk, like an old friend. I mean, I'm not a cute young girl who should be flirting with them - *G*; I'm just a fan who appreciates their work. And, if I don't decide ahead of time what to say... I'll just babble or freeze up. Finally, I don't want to leave without getting the autographs I want, as well as the photo I want to take.
So, this is my "script":
Pretty much, this is my script:
Hello - *smile*. Would you mind signing this *place photo in front of them*... to (my name)? Thank you. *smile*
*try to tell them how wonderful they are while they sign - because they are!* By the way, I thought you were wonderful in LOTR - you really brought the character to life for me! (or, in the case of Elijah, Chain of Fools, which I praise as well).
Oh, would you mind just putting a signature on this, too? *place the DVD case in front of them*.
Thank you so much! Say... could I possibly get you to pose with two old friends of yours? *mischievous grin; hold up action figures* You would? Thank you! *kneel down and take photo; pop back up and take figures and autographs* Thank you so much!!! *shake hand warmly*
*walk away dazed*
Notice - no glomping, blomping, or kissing. *S* I've made one exception to that, and that's in the next posting. And that line about "you really brought the character to life for me"? To be honest, I think that's the highest compliment you can pay an actor - and it's true for all of the hobbits, and Andy.
So, that's why I don't have any spectacular stories or glomping experiences. *G* Instead, I have a series of.... these:
