As I sit here, a lady of leisure typing away on my laptop, while at the same time, my utility room is being vacuumed to within an inch of its life. How is this possible, you cry? (or, more likely, mutter) My new iRobot Roomba! Wheeeee!!!!!
Yes, I, the woman who only vacuums when she has company coming, may now become a weekly vacuumer - whoooot! This clever little frisbee-shaped robot bounces softly off of the walls, crisscrossing over the room until it's cleaned. Kitty hair tumbleweeds may well become a thing of the past - as long as I remember to pick things up off the floor and turn it loose on a regular basis.
This is especially gratifying since I've had a cold all Thanksgiving break, which was when I wanted to get the house clean; I'm sure you can guess how much of that I got done. I stayed home from work the last two days, but I think I'm far enough along to be contagion-free and (hopefully) able to think and work, but the truth is that I doubt they'll get much out of me this week.
I DID get my lawn raked and mowed on Sunday, despite my cold and the cold (it was in the high '30's/low 40's). It probably didn't help my condition, but it really needed to be done, and it's only going to get colder.
Enough of that; time for me to catch up on you guys!
p.s. I flashed on a movie I saw on TV the other day called "Little Black Book" - has anybody else seen it? Just a run-of-the-mill "relationships are hell" movie, until the fascinating end, with Holly Hunter going... well... orgasmic as it culminates in the perfect reality TV episode. Wierd, but clever movie.
p.p.s. Seriously... "iRobot"! I wonder if they had to pay Isaac Asimov royalties? Here's a link if you want to see one: http://www.irobot.com/sp.cfm?pageid=122 It's actually a really cool helper for people who are handicapped... as well as those like me who are just plain LAZY!!!! *G*
