Alan Tudyk - on Hallucinogens! (and Russell Crowe coming up - and a Star Trek Funny)
I gotta try to see this one - I just saw a review of "Death at a Funeral" and, apparently, Alan Tudyk (who the reviewer says he's "never heard of"!!!!!!!!!!!!!) does a great turn as a fiance' at the funeral who is given Valium... that turns out to be a hallucinogen instead - *ggl*. And the reviewer LOVED how he acted it! Now, the other reviewer didn't like the movie at all, so... oh, well.

But - ALAN TUDYK!!!! (yes, the pilot from "Firefly" and "Serenity", as well as the funny goofy guy in... damn, what was that "Knight" movie with Heath Ledger and Paul Bettany... you know the one)

Still haven't seen "Stardust". Yes, I know - I'm a baaaaaad person. *hangs head in shame*

ETA: Well, what do you know? AT is also in an upcoming movie starring Russell Crowe (Captain Jack!!!) and Christian Bale, a re-make of the old "3:10 to Yuma", where a rancher (Bale) takes on the job of taking a murderous criminal (Crowe) to the train station, and ends up facing the threat of the criminal's gang coming after him. And to make matters worse, the rancher's son runs away from home to follow along. Clips, etc. are here: http://movies.yahoo.com/feature/310toyuma.html;_ylt=ApS4aiiMk.c83bM8V7vfiTVfVXcA No idea who Alan plays and didn't notice his face in the movie.

I saw the trailer for DAAF the other night, and I saw Alan's face, and I kept saying "I know that face, I know that face" and suddenly I realised "It's Wash!!" I wasn't expecting him to turn up in a British movie. Apparently he is mostly naked in the film due to the effects of said hallucinogen.

I'm fairly sure he does have an English acent in the film - which didn't help my confusion!

...I actually know about this movie (except that it was a remake). Does that surprise you? lol

*G* Nope, no surprise at all!

Say, I was just wondering about the guys on your island. Of them all, how many are straight, now many are bi, and how many are gay? Makes for an interesting island... *G*

Heehee, this is interesting to ponder. I think I can answer with fair accuracy. Let's see:

The only ones who have truly attempted to identify as 'gay' to me are Robert Smith and Gerard Way. I have a tremendously hard time imagining either of them with a girl, but I have made it my goal to do so (I've written a het Robert story for this very reason, lol. But it's not finished yet).

The only ones who are painfully straight as an arrow are the punks, damn them. Joe and Johnny? Not slashable (though the thought of them together fascinates me. I wish I could work through their images and write it.) They weren't homophobic, that I'm aware of, just...not like that. John is asexual, as far as I'm concerned, and Joe was apparently obsessed with having sex with as many women as possible. Interestingly, Glen Matlock (Pistols original bassist) is highly slashable in my mind. He was more of a 'sensitive', mild-mannered sort of guy. And Joe's friend Tymon? He's basically a hippie and the most laid back person ever, from what I've read. I could picture him thinking 'if it feels good, do it'. I think that's a great motto *G*

The rest could go either way, in my mind, which is exactly how I like them. Versatility is key. M&C associations aside, even Russell Crowe and Paul Bettany joke in interviews about lusting after each other which, though stated jokingly, implies they're both very comfortable with the idea. Hell, they're actors.

It's early- hope I didn't leave any other extremists out, lol.

"they're actors" Yep - and they're BRITISH actors... so that makes them doubly possibly "gay"! (sorry - the old joke that anybody who's British sounds gay - *G*)

Yes, I was wondering because of something I heard about Gerard - *G*.

Oh? You've heard something? I didn't base my assumptions of his sexuality on anything I'd actually read. It just seems to fit. Even swearing constantly, Gerard is NOT a "manly man". And his music/philosophies/social tendencies are so very gay-friendly that I figured either he or his brother was gay. And his brother just got married... (Gerard is allegedly engaged, but we've never seen the girl to whom he is).

I wanna know what you've heard!

*L*! Somewhere somebody posted a link to a clip of Gerard on stage, telling some story about (talk about bizarre) somebody mistaking him for David Cassidy (?!?!?!). For some reason, this compelled him to shout out that he'd "sucked way more cock than David Cassidy".

Yes, that ranks near the top reading on my bizarre-o-meter!

OMG! See what I mean about him? If he's not gay, he's still one hellova spokesman for legions of gay emo boys all over the world....and he's still HOT. *G*

"3:10 to Yuma" looks menacing. Peter Fonda and Ben Foster were at Comic-Con to promote it and I was pretty scared just looking and listening to Ben.

*L*! Yeah, I saw that Peter Fonda was in it. Don't think I'd recognize Ben Foster, though. Did you have a good time at Comic-Con?

Yes, I enjoyed Comic-Con very much. Someday maybe you'll consider returning. Do you have any conventions planned in the near future?

No, I've been pretty convention-free. I think for a while I was moving away from fandom... but I'm missing it, so I think I might be moving back. *G*
