Eneagled - "You didn't hear about the polar bear?"
Just thought I'd let you know I've joined the folks looking to drop the pounds and get healthier. I started Weight Watchers the Friday before last. It's not a bad system; I'd looked into it a few years ago but didn't like the "points idea, but now it makes some sense.
Oooo!!!! Stephen Colbert just used "Celebrex" in a sentence! *sigh* My baby. So glad it's still on the market for people who needed.
The kitten has been mostly good - if I could just get him to stop chasing my other two cats, I think it will work out.
My living room and kitchen are clean. Write this day on your calendar!
My sister started WW last summer, and the pounds dropped off of her. I think she's about a size 6 now. I tried to start WW, but I did so right at the holidays and that was too much for me. I needed to be able to have the time to adjust to the points system, and how to handle situations such as holidays and parties before being bombarded with Thanksgiving, my birthday, Christmas parties and dinners, and New Year's Eve. LOL Since the start of the year I just hadn't gotten around to getting back on the diet, but now that you have reminded me I think I need to get back to it.
I agree - I think it's really helpful to do it at a quiet time without a lot of challenges. I'm hoping I can stay focused and motivated.

Yah, I get kinda weepy about Celebrex too. Someone on my flist was saying nice things about it recently, and I had a similar reaction.
Hurray for WW! I've lost over 85 pounds with them. It's a great program... good luck!
I was wondering how many of you (like beizy and rakshi) were using that! Congratulations and thanks. I may be asking for ideas for foods from you in the future - *G*.
Yay! The Bunny of INCREDIBLE Cuteness icon!!
What's the deal with celebrex? I'm clueless (as usual).
Naaaah... didn't really expect everybody to get that. I know Finabair got it, because we worked at the same place for a while. I used to work for Searle, and I got to be in charge of one small part of the project (analytical methods for drug product) while I was there. It was a HUGE success for Searle, and a happy memory, especially in light of the fact that it then merged with Pharmacia, was later bought by Pfizer, and closed down - all in the space of about 3 years, and starting just after the launch of Celebrex. Some of your patients may take it - it's an NSAID (painkiller/anti-inflammatory) without the possible ulcer problems of aspirin and many other NSAIDS. It's for people who can't tolerate the others - especially people with arthritis who take large amounts every day. Merck launched a very similar drug, Vioxx, about 6 months after ours, but it was found to possibly cause heart problems, and was pulled off the market. Fortunately, Celebrex doesn't seem to have those problems.
And there's a much bigger answer than you expected!!!
Good luck with WW Ros! I hope it works out for you because it will make you feel fantastic. :)
ooh good luck WWing - I am working now with someone who just started too .. she makes zero point soups for lunch all the time :)
