Having a really hard time keeping up lately on LJ, but it seems like every time I read EW I see something I want to pass on to people who would be interested, so... here I go:
February 9, 2007
p. 10 Daniel Craig is going to be in the movie of The Golden Compass with Nicole Kidman (Dec. 7)? I had no idea!
p. 12 A great pic of OK GO blending into a gold and red wallpaper in a scene from their upcoming "Do What You Want" video, where the theme will be all these different people and things blending in by camouflage... I particularly like Nordwinds's matching glasses. *G*
p. 53 From an article on Sundance, some POSITIVE words about Jared Leto in "Chapter 27": "I was in the minority myself in disagreeing with the sour buzz over Chapter 28, a morbidly fascinating dramatization of Mark David Chapman's life in the three days leading up to the murder of John Lennon. Directed by Jarrett Shaefer, the film may tell you little about Chapman that you didn't already know, but Jard Leto, who gained 65 pounds for the role, disappears inside this angry, mouth-breathing psycho geek with a conviction that had me hanging on his every delusion."
p. 65 Apparently Rena Sofer plays bit roles on both "24" and "Heroes", so they asked her to list her reasons why you should choose one over the other - *G*:
Why she chooses "24":
- "It's less confusing to watch one man save the world than a bunch of people save the world."
-"It's easier on your stomach to see buildings and helicopters explode as opposed to people."
-"You don't have to invest too much in the future - on 24, at least you know the world gets saved in a day."
-"Unlike Isaac, Jack doesn't need to do heroin to save the world - until Season 3."
-"You can actually see me walk on 24 as opposed to Heroes, where you only see me sit in a chair." (She's wheelchairbound in Heroes)
Why she chooses "Heroes":
-"It might take Jack 24 hours to save the world, but Hiro can stop time and save the world in 20 minutes if he wants to."
-"On Heroes, we don't need nukes to blow up the world - we can use Peter!"
-"There's a slightly better chance of seeing colorful costumes and flying capes on Heroes than on 24."
-"It's more politically correct to watch minorities save the world on Heroes than destroy it on 24."
- "Save the cheerleader, save the world!" is a much cooler phrase than "Dammit, Chloe, we're running out of time!"
And, finally, on p. 79, another mention of The Dark Tower graphic novels - but with this quote from Stephen King!: "If Peter Jackson came along and said "I made up with New Line and they want to spend billions of dollars on [a movie adaptation]", I'd say sure, knock yourself out." *G*
And, in this months Rolling Stone with Panic! At the Disco on the cover (yay!), you can also read the Brief History of Guyliner on pp. 44-45, wherein several of gayalithiel's Fantasy Island men make appearances... but, sadly, no Dom. *sigh*
And... LEGO my OKGO!!! Yes, the OK GO videos re-done... with LEGOS (p. 38 of Rolling Stone): A Million Ways - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yjca72xLNuo, Here it Goes Again - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DjCL0_0Il7w.
