10 Favorite Bands?
My local radio station WXRT (a good one, by the way) is asking its listeners to choose their 10 favorite bands from a list. When I went through the list, I kept thinking of hobbitgrrl and what you'd choose - *G*. I'd say they have at least half of your favorite bands listed. Which is a bit ironic, because I rarely hear them! But you might want to go there and show your support: http://www.dat-e-baseonline.com/front/deb.asp?Action=LogIn. And perhaps others might be interested.

In fact - why don't you tell me your 10 favorite bands? Just specify whether it's off of the list or from all possible choices.

Here's mine (under a cut so as not to influence you!):

This is from WXRT's list, and it's actually 11:

Barenaked Ladies
Elvis Costello
Counting Crows
Guster
Jimi Hendrix
Jet
Nickel Creek
REM
KT Tunstall
U2
The Who

If they were on the list, I'd add:

Common Rotation
30 Seconds to Mars

And, once again, I badly need to create a music-oriented icon!

I have to admit - I've never heard of The Red Elvises or The Residents - who are they?

*G* I'm "monitoring" them, but I'm not active on MySpace - and I think he hears enough from the Billy Boyd fans! Loving their music.

Hmm, I can't see the list either. And 10 bands is going to be nearly impossible! :D But I can try...

They Might Be Giants
Sufjan Stevens
The Decemberists
Ok Go
Spoon
The Long Winters
Beck
Jonathan Coulton
Tally Hall
Mike Doughty

This is very much an of-the-moment thing. There are at least another 10 bands that make it onto my 'favorite bands' list, not to mention the ones that I enjoy but don't consider to be a favorite.

I know they had the first four, and Beck - and possibly Mike Doughty. Although I RARELY hear them play TMBG, or The Decemberists (in fact, never on the latter).

Hey! John Hodgman was on Colbert last night, talking about (*L*!) American Idol.

Oh, what a question, there's too many to chose from... And I doubt many of my favourite bands even have a place on that website. ^_^

Diary of Dreams
VNV Nation
Vaya Con Dios
Christina Aguilera
Cypress Hill
Kelly Clarkson
Amorphis
Type O Negative
Billie King (Belgian talent)
Fields of the Nephilim

and many, MANY others. These are just the ones that popped in my head first. ^_^

I've only heard of half of those! I thought you were more of a '70's girl, though.
