Wishing everybody a beautiful 2007!
I had such strange dreams this morning; I think it means I've been forgetting to take my meds - *L*! I think it also means I'm worried about my job, since a couple of them were sad ones where I lost my jobs at various places; let's hope that just a needless worry that resulted from my experience at the company in Indianapolis.

Strangely enough, after losing one of my jobs, I became a Jeeves for somebody...! I actually talked the person into it, and rather enjoyed it. I did the accent (a bit) and basically "did" for them. Perhaps it means I'd enjoy nurturing somebody?

Which lead me to think: would it be adorable if somebody wrote a Jeeves/Wooster story based on "The Princess Bride"? Or has this already been done? Basically, Bertie would be his usual loopy gad-about-town, with Jeeves saying "as you wish", and Bertie rolling his eyes at him, until he realizes that, of course, every time Jeeves said "as you wish", he really meant "I love you". Bertie then realizes he's also in love with Jeeves, but Jeeves then says that he realizes he has to... well... we need some noble reason having to do with being in love with Bertie for Jeeves to leave. Ideas, anybody?

Anyway, in the meantime, Bertie somehow hears that Jeeves is dead (!). While he's mourning his loss and moping, having no desire to continue on, one of his Aunts gets him engaged to a very rich and powerful girl, to which he submits. However, the rich and powerful girl has actually spent her money, and wants to kill off Bertie to get his. She has him kidnapped by a trio of bumbling idiots, whom Jeeves attempts to save him from. They have a joyful reunion, but the "wife" catches them in the act, and threatens to expose them. To save Jeeves, Bertie agrees to go on with the marraige, but, instead of Jeeves being let free, he's actually sentenced to work for one of Bertie's enemies. Jeeves manages, with the help of two of the bumbling kidnappers, to get back to Bertie just before the wedding, and to come up with blackmail on the bride-to-be, to keep her from exposing Bertie and Jeeves love. The End.

What do you think? Has it been done before?

Other people would know better than I if it's been done already, however, if it hasn't, someone should write it. It sounds charming.

Happy New Year, Ros dear! I hope 2007 is splendiferous in many, many ways.

*is actually Hyel*

The bumbling kidnappers could be Claude and Eustace! Blackmailed or bribed into it, or course. And Jeeves's noble reason would be that it would be highly improper to form a nonprofessional relationship with an employer, so he'd instantly quit and go to someone else's employ.

Good luck on the job front! We all need that in these unstable times.

*snort* Claude and Eustace - lord help us!

Hmmmm... and then he'd come back when he hears Bertie's go be married? Might work!

And best of luck to you; I hope you find a good one in Belgium. *S*
