That's from Billy's Radio Play on the BBC. If anybody who wants to hear it hasn't done so yet, just comment below, and I'll put it up to download and let you know.
It's called "Mike and Muriel Are Getting Married", or something like that, and it's mostly a two-hander, with a series of meetings between Andy and Rebecca, Mike and Muriel's best friends, respectively, who want to stop M&M's wedding. It starts out as a fix-up between the two of them by M&M, which results in the "worst date ever!", and then progresses from there. "Andy" (Billy's character) is a bit geeky, nervous, and immature. He's basically a nice shy guy, but tends to get a bit snappish when anxious, and is a bit clingy to Mike (*G*), who is also his roommate. Rebecca comes off a bit nicer, but possibly too outspoken, not quite as considerate, and more worried about "finding someone".
Just some notes to myself as I listened - bits that hit me.
*G* Love that both of them are actually a bit nice, and both a bit obnoxious... well, especially Andy. *L*!
Andy finds out that Mike let Muriel help "tidy up" the apartment, resulting in some of his favorite posters being take down, such as: posters of Scully... and Seven of Nine... "No... you didn't take down Seven of Nine!!!"
Andy describing Rebecca to Mike: "You set me up with a bunny-boiler!" (*L*!)
Rebecca, who tells Andy she thought of him a few months ago after her date with a "Nazi"; the thought that came to her head: "Well, my date with Andy is no longer the worst date I've ever had!"
When Andy finds out Mike is going to ask Muriel if she wants to move in with him: "Move in? With us?"
Mike, after Andy sputters about how this will leave him to sort out the bills, etc.: "I knew you'd get all "Andy" about it."
[Really well-written, and Billy is wonderful at getting annoyed and sounding like it.]
Billy to Mike as they pack Mike's things up and argue about about whose stuff is whose: "You're taking the Buffy DVD's?! I remember when we bought these: we decided that I would get "Buffy" and you would get "Angel"!"
[EEEEE!!! Billy as a geek! *G*]
In mentioning that Mike and Muriel are always "we" now: "It's like being friends with a Borg!"
*heeheehee* The sounds Billy makes after being punched by Andy. Awwwww... they're so cute; Billy is so jealous of Muriel!
God... the little giggle Billy makes after the "They're dinner party people now!" - so cute. And when he sounds sad, or wistful, it's just so appealing.
Good play. GREAT Billy!
