And AFTER the hailstorm...
Again, my apologies; I can't lj-cut these because of the changes Live Journal has made - it won't show me this entry in html.
You can see above what the hail looked like on my cement porch, with some of the golf-ball-sized hail below, and my rather messy  yard.  *G*
Finally... okay, this should work for the movie:  http://s40.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=0VJO0BNJ4C4HS1HYR90DKQWS9S  It's now in the right format (.wmv) and is only 3 Mb  long.  Be sure to turn up the sound!

*nods in agreement*

I mean... I used to be able to go to my photos on my computer, and choose to "publish to the web"... but now when I do that, LJ doesn't come up as an option, only MSN!

*doesn't understand*

maybe you need to reinstall the client-thingy? I can still go that route, only it doesn't really help, since you still end up with their can't-view-code problem. I think I'm going to use semagic even more than I did before, since I can still do lj-cuts fairly easily that way (if I'm using scrapbook - photobucket is less of a problem)

Oh, your poor yard! Your poor house! How did that NOT break your windows??? Can you imagine getting hit in the head with one of those?

On the other hand, the cross-section of a hailstone is really interesting. I've never seen them that large before.

Thank heavens for the warnings! I feel sorry for any poor souls who were driving around and got this without warning.

It was very directional, and, luckily, I have only one north-facing window. There are a couple of cracks in one pane, and one might have been there before; I think the second is new.

And, yes, the hailstones are actually pretty! *L*!

Wow, they're strangely beautiful, but holy crap, that video is scary!

My brother in law and his wife had a huge hail storm in Atlanta on Jan. 2 and it actually shattered all the windows in one of their cars.

I'm glad you're OK, hon. *hugs*

Some of that hail reminded me of mushrooms. Strange. I sure feel sorry for any soul, furry, feathered or human out in that storm.

Huh... they do! Me, too; hope all the creatures found shelter.

WOW!!! I was thinking of you when I saw on tv how bad things were getting in Indy. I am glad it wasn't any worse than that. I always think of animals too when storms like that hit. I think of my kitties and hope they would be ok. Scary stuff!

Still, aren't the hail stones kind of pretty?

I know; luckily they seem to find shelter!

They are! Good thing they didn't hit by you, or they'd smush the mushrooms!

Wow, those hailstones are actually kind of pretty. I wouldn't have believed that possible last night when they were hitting my windows so hard I thought I was going to have to run for cover.

The sirens went off here; I spent a couple of hours in the basement.

I did step into my closet for a few minutes during the worst of it (too many big glass windows in my apartment), but I didn't settle in. Unfortunately, access to the basement level is at the opposite end of the building from my apartment. Without ample notice, as a practical matter, the best I can probably due is just hunker down in my closet or bathroom.

They're predicting more storms for Easter Sunday afternoon. *has had enough already*

Working for an insurance company is rather interesting. I talked to a person who had actually driven thru a hailstorm just outside of Indy. He said that his car looks like swiss cheese, but the funny thing...... none of his windows were damaged! They said the hail was the size of baseballs! When he called he was in a parking lot and he said the parking lot was filled with lots of people with their windows broken out. He couldn't understand how his didn't get smashed!

Just make sure your roof & gutters and such are checked over thoroughly. If you are going to sell your house, that's one thing that will be a big factor to the buyers.

I'm just glad that you weren't out in this weather. *hugs*

Ah! Good to hear from somebody who works for an insurance company!

I did call my company and leave a message. Good point about the gutters, in addition to the roof. If you do know something about how this works, any advice would be helpful. For example, should I call a roofing company to look at it myself, as well? Thanks!

We all watched the video and couldn't believe there's anything left of your grass at all. My word. I'm very glad you were inside and safe, and hope not too many nests got knocked out of the trees.

We were watching the Cubs game Friday night and saw the tornado warnings for south-away - and saw the thunderheads out the window too - and I thought 'Uh-oh, it's headed towards Indy...' Sorry to see I was right.

Glad it bypassed you this time! *L* - the girls across the street were yelling to their dad yesterday, "Dad, there are holes in the ground!!!", and darned if they weren't right. There were half-golf-ball-shaped depressions all over the lawn. But the lawn was fine; it bounces back.
