*ggl* Josh Hartnett trying to do a British accent - *L*!!!!
Watching (on TV) a British movie with Josh Hartnett, Billy Nighy (yay!), and Alan Rickman (yay!), called (I think) "Blow Dry" - *G*. Anyway, why the hell did they put Josh in this?! I've often heard people - talking about accents coming and going, and I never seem to catch it. But here? Good lord - *L*!!! Not a great movie, since it follows in the steps of every quirky British comedy/underdogs winning in the end/estranged family members coming together/kids of competitors falling in love movie ever made. But it's sweet. And I did the old "drink too much Diet Pepsi and forget to go to bed" thing - *L*!

Oh, and... HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

[ETA:

"Moom! Moom! It's Dahd - he's cooohtin'!"

(translation: "Mom! Mom! Its Dad - he's cutting!")

Ah, yes, "Dad" is Alan Rickman, in his "blonde" look, sadly (I so much prefer him with dark hair); Bill Nighy is brilliant as the nasty cheating competition.]

Yorkshire... yep, I think you're right! I remember somebody using the word "Yorkie" - thanks!

And, yes, Bill Nighy is one ray of sunshine in this; I look at it as his audition for "Love, Actually". *G*

Whoa. An Alan Rickman movie I haven't seen.

Must. have. the. Rickman.

I love Bill Nighy. Just discovered him in "Love, Actually".

*snorts at your Pirate Ducky icon!*

I know - I had the same thought! "Alan Rickman? Why haven't I heard of this?"

Important, though - he looks pretty cheesy at the beginning of the film, and slowly gets better looking. I don't think they intended it to be noticeable, but it is.

As to Bill - seen "Shaun of the Dead" yet? *G* He doesn't have a big part, but it's a funny movie. *S*

Oh! And did you know he has an LOTR connection? He (hard to believe, but he was excellent) did the voice of Sam Gamgee in the old BBC radio version of LOTR. Sean Astin sounded similar to him in the movie.

I'm having fun with my paid account. Pulling out all the icons I've had squirreled away!

Yes, precious, LOTR. The road goes ever on and on, down from the door where it began.
