Andy Rooney (don't laugh now!) is doing a little segment on TV, making he point that half as many people smoke now as did (missed the number) years ago. And then shows an assortment of ashtrays, reminding us of how prevalent they used to be. And they were! I remember there wasn't a room anywhere you went that didn't have an ashtray. And, of course, all the "collectible" ashtrays people picked up as souveniers. *rolls eyes*. As he also pointed out, the fact that a carton of Marlboros costs $75 (yes, $75!) might have something to do with it, too. *S* And the percentage of high schoolers who smoke has gone down, too.
