Via Beizy, from an interview with Elijah at Newsweek (http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/9377817/site/newsweek/):
Q: A couple of weeks ago Dominic Monaghan told NEWSWEEK that you two were having an affair.
A: Dom's actually going to have my child. We're very excited, very proud. We're going to name it Frodo. He wanted it to be called Mary, but I thought since it was my sperm I get to choose.
Q: Did you read "Everything Is Illuminated" after you got the part in the movie?
A: I didn't—primarily because what we adapted was a portion of the book, and when I started thumbing through it I realized that structurally it was different from the story we were trying to tell. So I thought I'll stick with what I know right now.
Q: Also, it's not out in CliffsNotes, right?
A: No, but I wouldn't read CliffsNotes anyway. I am literate. I promise.
Q: Your last couple of movies have been small ones. Has that been intentional?
A: After "LOTR" I definitely didn't want to do anything really big. The idea of working on something really small was exciting to me. I was looking to do straight to DVD.
Q: Have you had any of those?
A: A couple. A movie called "Chain of Fools" that was done right before "LOTR."
Q: And yet "Flipper" made it into theaters.
A: Yeah, it did. Some things slip through the cracks. Hey, I did it for the dolphins.
[p.s. I'm guessing Elijah said "Merry", but it got written down as "Mary"...]
