I can't decide which is worse:

Remembering at 7:01 that "Firefly" is on at 6 pm, or

Finding that there's actually a program called "Competitive Eating" on ESPN (the Sports Network)... sample commentary: "it appears he's using the marinara as a lubricant to aid in eating"... oh god... there's a skinny lady talking about competitive eating, and she and her husband travel and compete on the circuit together... there's a CIRCUIT??? commentary again: "She's got one of the fastest swallows, right out of the gate..." the lady jumps up and down at one point, and the commentary: "there's the Carlene bop; she's trying to get the food to settle down to the bottom of her stomache..."

I think I'm going to be ill.

(BTW, in case you can't tell, it's a spaghetti eating contest... "The Alka-Seltzer US Open")

I'd say the "Competitive Eating" thing is worse. Sounds absolutely disgusting.

And everyone (competitors, commentators, etc.) keep repeating that this is really a sport!

And what's really strange? The competitors were almost all very skinny or very obese. You'd expect the obese, but the skinny ones? Strange.

Competitive Eating. Definitely.

Firefly will be on again sometime, if nothing else, but you will NEVER completely erase the eating thingy from your poor brain.

Please say you are joking about the competitive eating show. Ewwww! The Carlene Bop? They have names for different...plays/maneuvers/whatever you call it? That is just gross! I had never heard of such a thing before. It made my stomache turn a little when I read it. Yuk!

That was as word for word as I could type as I listened; I'm not kidding, it's real. One guy had a t-shirt that had a long list of all of his titles printed on it, completely filling up the back.
