Mad about a boy...
Well, I admit, I'm quite a fan of the monaboyd slash pairing, and every time I go there, I tend to read "monaboyd" as "madaboutaboy". Might be a good LJ name for me in the future. *G* So I googled it, because I knew it was a song, and it is - actually "Mad About The Boy" by Noel Coward, who wrote it for his gay lover. Seems to be very apt for slash fans, and for fangirls alike, so without further ado, allow me to lyricspam you!

Mad About The Boy

Mad about the boy,
I know it's stupid to be mad about the boy.
I'm so ashamed of it, but must admit
The sleepless nights I've had about the boy.
On the silver screen,
He melts my foolish heart in ev'ry single scene,
Although I'm quite aware that here and there,
Are traces of a cad about the boy.
Lord knows I'm not a fool girl,
I really shouldn't care.
Lord knows I'm not a schoolgirl,
In the flurry of her first affair.
Will it ever cloy?
This odd diversity of misery and joy.
I'm feeling quite insane and young again
And all because I'm mad about the boy.

*S* Ain't it the truth?

And, gaya? Go check out beizy's journal for a really well-written "almost" Obi-Wan/Anakin. And, while you're there, you might rec some of the better-written ones. She was saying she really hadn't read any, and perhaps you have?

I know it's not Noel Coward, but Cole Porter... and you just reminded me that I still have yet to rent De-Lovely.

*comes back*

Could it be there are TWO songs with the same title? I found the following lyrics attributed to Noel Coward, sung by Dinah Washington, originally from a musical. Then, after it, they again had the first lyrics I posted, as "alternative" lyrics. Here are the lyrics they had as the ones sung by Dinah Washington:

MAD ABOUT THE BOY,

IT'S PRETTY FUNNY, BUT I'M MAD ABOUT THE BOY,

HE HAS A GAY APPEAL THAT MAKES ME FEEL

THERE MAY BE SOMETHING SAD ABOUT THE BOY,

WALKING DOWN THE STREET,

HIS EYES LOOK OUT AT ME FROM PEOPLE THAT I MEET,

I CAN'T BELIEVE IT'S TRUE, BUT WHEN I'M BLUE,

IN SOME STRANGE WAY I'M GLAD ABOUT THE BOY,

I'M HARDLY SENTIMENTAL,

LOVE ISN'T SO SUBLIME,

I HAVE TO PAY MY RENTAL,

AND I CAN'T AFFORD TO WASTE MUCH TIME,

IF I COULD EMPLOY

A LITTLE MAGIC THAT WOULD FINALLY DESTROY

THIS DREAM THAT PAINS ME AND ENCHAINS ME,

BUT I CAN'T, BECAUSE I'M MAD ABOUT THE BOY,

Damn... those are even MORE perfect for us fangirls/slashers! *LOL*!!!!
