Hey, everybody, need your feedback here!
The local station I listen to allows listeners to suggest "select-a-set"s - a set of 3 songs - to play on the radio. They pick one each day, usually because the reason behind the choice is interesting, and it's a good set of songs.
Well, I've been trying to think of a good set of songs that would include "Indie Rockin'" by Common Rotation, as a way to get the station to play them. *G* Tell me what you think of this:
I moved to Indy just a little over a year ago, and, as everybody knows, moving to a new town can be a very lonely experience. One of the things that eased the transition, however, was finding WTTS 92.3 on the radio, because the music you play made me feel immediately at home - quality music, new and old, classic rock to alternative to acoustic, in an independent format. So what I'd like to request today is music that reminds me of where I've been, from the college I went to in my birth state of Virginia, to the great city of Chicago where I had my first real job and where I lived until last year, and, finally, my new home, Indianapolis. It's also music that helps span the variety of songs that you play, as well as three different eras of rock. So, without further ado, here are my three songs:
"My Old School" by Steely Dan ("oh, no... William and Mary won't do now...")
"Tonight, Tonight" by Smashing Pumpkins ("... in the city by the lake")
"Indie Rockin'" by Common Rotation (it's what WTTS is all about - "Indy Rockin'"... if you change the spelling just a bit...!)
p.s. I realize that you may not have the group Common Rotation in your catalog - which is a shame! - so I'm sending you their CD "Big Fear", just in case. They're a great group along the lines of They Might Be Giants or Bare Naked Ladies. I hope you enjoy them.
[Sound good? Let me know! Thanks]
