I do love "Jeremiah"... *G* - "You didn't hear about the polar bear?"
I do love "Jeremiah"... *G*|
But... if you found out you were in the middle of a mine field, would you get upset and then walk forward without looking at the ground in front of you? *groans*
Damn, Sean's good. Hilarious with that "good cop, bad cop" look - *L*! He's just... funny, touching, perfect. *S* I so love this role for him.

Is this a tv show or a film that's on? I'm not sure what's going on

OH!!! It's a TV show. Check out Cyloran's LJ. It's called "Jeremiah" and it was on Showtime. It got cancelled and they never showed the last 8 episodes - and, as it turned out, Sean Astin was on the show as the mysterious (adorable, tragic, funny) Mister Smith for the last 16 episodes. So while we Sean Astin fans were thrilled to see him in it last year, we were crushed at the thought that we might never see "the missing eight". They're finally showing them, every Friday in September, at 7 pm, two episodes at a time. The show is about what happens with a plague kills all of the adults in this world, and what the world is like 20 years later, when the children, the only ones to survive, are grown up.
Ah! I have a bookmark: http://www.jeremiahportal.com/
You thought Sean Astin was adorable as Sam? You should see him as Mister Smith - the man who hears God.

Huzzah! Ros is being lured to the Jeremiah side of the Force! Bwwaaaahaaahaaaaaaa!!
Ah yes, the mine field. I love State of the Union for a number of reasons, that being one of them. Everything goes BOOM! except our heroes (thank goodness). I love the little tidbits of information that keep popping up about Mister Smith . . . like his apparent knack for gadgets, like his fishing line. Like Libby once told him, he's like still pool but if you throw in a rock, it's deep and goes forever.
More surprises in store during the last 2 episodes that are well worth the wait, and even more about our Mister Smith to cheer for.

Silly, I've been lured since the beginning! *L*! I was one of the idiots who signed up for Showtime in December of 2002, only to have to wait until bloody SEPTEMBER to see the damn thing - *G*.
His hair... is so... GUH!!!! *wants to run her fingers through it!*
What did you think of the photos from Sean's book? Doesn't he look like a teenager in the one in the stairway?!

you and me in the old old days of Seanless Jer! ..except did YOU keep watching it? ... or were the elephant and library episodes the last straw?!
am I the weirdest for not looking at the photos or buying the book?
*looks in mirror*

WHY NOT???????? What's holding you back?????
And, yes, I only meant "Jeremiah with Sean"; not crazy about Seanless Jeremiah, although I will get around to watching those eventually. Clear it up for me though, if you would - what season was Mister Smith in? Season 2 or Season 3? And only Season 1 is on DVD now?

only because I'm torn in a dozen ways on how to spend my overdraft at the moment ... what with all the theatre suddenly presenting itself to me and everything - so any tiny impact on me NOT spending more is good - and the book AND the audio book make excellent answers to the "what would you like for Christmas Julia?" question!
Also ... I have not given up hope of Sean making it over to Europe for a booksigning.
Jeremiah is technically two seasons only - but due to the missing 8 some now read it as 3. (not unlike the final series of a certain show supposedly based in Chicago but filmed in Toronto tum te tum) So Mister Smith occurs in Season 2 or 2/3 if you prefer. Yes - only S1 is currently on DVD :(

Ah - okay, now I understand... sort of - but that doesn't mean you can't look at the piccies. They're all "homemade" snapshots of the guys hanging around with each other. No reason not to look - it's not like they're spoilers or anything. *S*
(really? Due South was in Chicago - *L*!!! Well, if they went to all the trouble of releasing season 1, they MUST do 2! *G*)
|Date:||September 19th, 2004 01:18 am (UTC)|| |
you didn't know DS was "Chicago" based?? .. ahah - then you can't possibly have watched more than 5 seconds of it and are unqualified to be unsquee *L*!
Agreed - looking at the pictures isn't a problem - ....*wanders off to link* - awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww!! done and done *G* ....that was more of a finding time thing than a definite plan to avoid them.
are you insinuating that S1 was not worthy of a DVD release? :P!!!! cheeky monkey - except for 3 back-to-back episodes which deserved to be flushed down the nearest convenience - the rest is great... ANNNNNND there is commentary on the pilot - so here's hoping for the same on some of the next box!

"unqualified to be unsquee" - *L*! that is the third novel use of the word squee you've made in one week - you are the queen of squee, m'lady! *G* Well, I hope that when you looked at the pics you went to my journal for the link and commented on whether or not you think Sean looks like he's back to 18 years old in the pic taken of looking down the stairs (with the firepole)! *G*

Crap. I've missed them all. Hubby is watching baseball on the only TV we get Showtime on.
*grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr* Why can't he watch on the OTHER TV??? *eyes him with narrowed eyes* Hmmm... perhaps he's threatened by the incredible sexiness of Mister Smith? *G*
|Date:||September 17th, 2004 08:19 pm (UTC)|| |
Why can't he watch on the OTHER TV??
Um, because he's a man? Who knows, I believe you are right...he is threatened!
I love Jeremiah... Sean's so great as Mister Smith.
I don't get Showtime. Fuck.
"Fuck" is right. I so hope this goes to DVD quickly; I messed up on trying to record these.
Love your icon. *G*
*S* .. I can't believe you lucky bunnies are going to have BOTH treasures - Lost and Jeremiah screened at the same time .. *L* ... but not LITERALLY I hope!!!
*L*! No - Wednesday for LOST, Friday for (the last two - *sob*) Jeremiah's.
Life. is good. *happy sigh*
But then there are people with connections who have already seen ALL of these - :P!!!!! *L*!
I count my blessings one..two ..squee!
don't worry - by episode three you'll be ahead of me by a week and the torment can be reversed ;)!
"one... two... squee!" - *L*! Very well said - *G*
