BIG SPOILERS AHEAD!!!! DO NOT READ IF YOU WANT TO STAY UNSPOILED!!!
God bless Dom... he tried to prepare us as best he could. He did say in at least one interview, when asked if he'd mind if they killed off Charlie, that he'd be okay as long as it was done really well.
And it was done really, really well.
Is it sick to think Charlie was amazingly charismatic when he was bound and mouthing off to his captors? How did he manage to look sexy and adorable while covered in blood and stubble? And he does the wide-eyed look very, very well. *G*
A musical code - of course! But... how did he know what notes the 16 numbers would give? What note to start on? It's apparently two octaves, but... starting on what note - A? And, while I'm being picky... there was absolutely no reason for him to close that door, with him on the inside. He could have closed it with him on the other side. But, again... so damn touching... and they managed to work in his "writing on his hands" once again... and having him crossing himself at the end. Dom... you did well... you did really, really well. I hope this transition is easier on you than the one from LOTR. It's going to be so hard on you to have all your friends still involved (one of them possibly still your girlfriend) and not be in it. ((((((hugs))))))
Yay, Hurley coming to the rescue in the '60's van!!!!
Yep, I knew they hadn't shot the trio, although I'm still not sure that was against Benry's instructions... he could have told one of them not to do it, beforehand.
And, yes, I do at least partly believe Benry; next year will be the Castaways and the Others versus... People who are after the secret of the island. But why did Naomi have the photo? And couldn't Penny have posted a reward, and maybe she just doesn't know about this other ship, which is going for the reward (and that's why they have the photo)?
Nice resurrection of Locke, including getting over his paralysis coming back, and excellent use of Walt - or "projection-Walt". Perhaps we'll get to find out what happened to him and Michael? Or perhaps he's just a Jacob-projection, as all of the "see somebody you can't possibly be seeing" visions might be.
The surprise at the end... Hooooly Fuck... a preview of after they leave the island? Ah - yes... "still pulling people out of burning wreckage". So, it was a first for the show. A flash-forward.
Hmmmm.. a black funeral director... Michael? No. Sawyer? Damn... who DID die? Perhaps somebody we haven't met yet? Somebody very hated.
Golden pass... of course. "Sorry we stranded you on an island to make up for it, you can fly as much as you want."
"I'm sick of lying." So he's feeling guilty for something they did on the island... for how things turned out.
Dayum. That IS a good plot twist to put in. One feels it was right to leave, one feels it wasn't, and we only see two of them - so, while we know they got off the island, we don't know if it was for the best, and we don't know what happened to the rest of them...!
Oh, Charlie. How am I going to stay involved in this show without you? I'm glad you were finally worth caring about in the end. (((((((hugs))))))) And I'm glad that Desmond was there as a witness, so that Claire will know what he did.
