Beecake photos by Christopher Schmelke
I'd heard there was a pro photographer taking photos at the Con, and now voontah just posted a link to his photos - and they're beautiful. Not only are they sharp as a tack, beautifully composed, and have great expressions, but he's also tinted/sepia'd/desaturated several of the photos in a beautifully artistic way. I hope you'll check them out here: http://www.pbase.com/cliptheapex/beecake__los_angeles

I keep promising myself I'll learn to use Photoshop better to allow me to be more creative with photos, but it hasn't happened yet. I'm still in that "takephotos-takephotos-takephotos" and "show-them-all" mode, rather than picking the best photos and trying to display them in the best possible manner. Perhaps this will inspire me to do so - *S*.

I find that picking a dozen or so of the best pics from an event is next to impossible for me. I suspect even two dozen would be, although it might be more realistic to aim for.

I don't HAVE Photoshop at the moment; I keep meaning to get it, as there's a plugin that will interpolate and thus sharpen/enlarge photos, but haven't afforded it yet. I do have a Mac-specific program called GraphicConverter that does lots, but until I get Photoshop I'm still somewhat limited.

Well, I know a little Photoshop, but not how to selectively remove/add color into a photo. I need to learn more about masks.

Nah, I think we're too much alike. Learn enough to correct the worst of the damaged photos, and go on to take more...

{Smile} Dad always has believed that the way to take really good photos is to take lots, bracket lots, and toss anything too bad. {SMILE}

He has not even begun to master photoshop.

Hey, Rosa! I was wondering if you had a nice picture of the entire Beecake band I could use with credit for a Beecake Myspace site.

I wish I did, but my lens wouldn't go out that wide!
