Beecake Videos Redux
[ETA: Bandwidth was exceeded, but I just purchased more, as of Tuesday, March 13, 9:20 pm Central Daylight Time!]

Right, then - they're all up now! As promised, I'm re-posting the original post, so you won't forget or miss it:

Warning - may cause motion sickness; I was in the third row and had to use the tele option to avoid all the heads, and didn't have anything to rest my hands on. Hopefully it's still viewable. And, of course, there's the occasional grip adjustment, where the world tumbles all over the place - *L*!

I highly recommend "I am Sorry" and "Lost Direction", for sound quality and "you'll be humming it all day" worthiness. I also love "All You Ever Wanted", but it's difficult to hear the vocals in that one.

"I am Sorry": http://www.yousendit.com/download/T2dlNU1CSU8wZ2swTVE9PQ

"Friends and Lovers": http://download.yousendit.com/C0088C3E7F69EAEB

"Lost Direction" - Has Billy on harmonica - and listen to that fantastic harmony at the very end! His bandmates are great, and great guys to boot: http://download.yousendit.com/844D86366619D41E

Intro to "Drunk" - I got this taped the night before, so I skipped it this time, in favor of doing stills: http://download.yousendit.com/1C5381985FC4B4EA

"Get Myself Arrested" - a cover) - or, as Billy says, in his best Sean Connery impersonation, "Get Myself Arreshted" - *G* - with solo singing part by Rick, the bass player, and a drum solo by John. A silly song, with mock-tough Billy: http://download.yousendit.com/A8C1DD7570772F44 (this one is a ZIP file; please let me know if that causes problems!)

"All You Ever Wanted" - Only the second time they've performed it; brand-new. Sounds better in person than on video. Has the wonderful lines "He's building an empire, and breaking her heart" and "All you ever wanted, all you ever needed is here in my arms". It sounds to me like the battle between ambition and love, the pull between giving all your heart, soul, time and energy into a career, vs. being there for the ones you love - something any actor or musician has to deal with (another ZIP file): http://download.yousendit.com/212EB63F31797DE0

A snippet of "Lilac Wine"; again, because this has been taped before (and it's a cover) I didn't tape it all: http://download.yousendit.com/F505FF9E18823371
Beecake 8 - 1952 - a snippet of "Rip It Up" - (there's an excellent version from a TV appearance, and I didn't know if I'd run out of time on the video): http://www.yousendit.com/download/T2djK3BMTEQ0b0EwTVE9PQ

So, these are all the songs from the concert except:

- The first two (the second of which was the song from "Save Angel Hope", a reggae-style song), "Drunk", the rest of "Lilac Wine", the rest of "Rip it Up", the rest of - "Drunk", "Soul Swimming", and whatever the last songs were - anybody remember?

So, there you have it - at least half of the Beecake set. And, may I say, they were just having a GREAT time there, and much more outgoing than at the shorter Hotel Cafe set - probably due to being silly all day, and, by that time, pretty much "knowing" the audience. What a fantastic band! I hope you enjoy these videos and that they encourage you to follow the band and buy their CD's. Thanks.

I should have the first three on Boydbeat before I go to bed tonight. What exactly were they giggling about at the beginning of Lost Direction? I didn't catch that.

I'm intrigued by your description of Get Myself Arrested. But I'll have to wait til tomorrow to see it, dangit.

I think it was some kind of British (or Scottish) television in-joke - where some character says "Really?" in some silly way. I think it was prompted by "we're going to do this song - really" or something like that. *G*

Intrigued by that? Odd... I thought I described it as just okay! Nawww... the other ones I mentioned are much better. Oh, I know what it was - the "Billy trying to be tough" - *L*!!! Silly girl! *G*

Thank you so much for the links. I recorded the very last song - "Pour My Wine" and posted the link here. Photobucket changed it to FLV, so you'll need Flash player or VLC media player to watch it - I'll put up the original quicktime when I get home.

I'll definitely be downloading these at some point tomorrow, I'm sure. I also got some great vid at the concert on saturday. I don't think you were the only one filming it that started to get tired and have the camera just go crazy...I know I did that a couple of times, lol!

Thank you for the downloads! I'm so glad you got "All You Ever Wanted", and I grabbed "Lost Direction" too since it's not on the CD. Haven't had time to listen to the CD yet, or rather haven't had the presence of mind - I'm beat!

I uploaded those shots of you and voontah in the lobby to my LJ pictures, but the gallery is f-locked - feel free to friend me and grab them if you'd like.

Hello, evul goddess/cats lady! *G* You know - what if "Beru" stood for Aunt Beru (sp?) of Star Wars fame? Then she wouldn't be evil, would she? *G*

Those two are just great, along with I'm Sorry.

Oh, thank you! I'll do that!

You are so sweet - thank you!

Oh! You know what? *slaps forehead* I could just... copy them on a CD for you!!! Speaking of which... do I owe you any other things on CD?

Try again! I just bought more bandwidth. Sorry about that - it said they could be downloaded 100 times (!), but everything they tell me seems to be more than I get.

If it works, let me know!
