I'm not dead... I just act that way!
Actually, I'm close to wishing I was today, as I've watched the slow, but inevitable progression of cold sores. All around my mouth. Oh, yes. Sorry for that lovely image but I HATE THEM! GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!

So now I get to look forward to a whole week of looking worse and worse at work, while trying to pretend nothing's the matter. Ick!

Okay, enough whining!

Had a cool day last Friday, cleaning out the roof gutters at a home for women trying to go from homelessness to a more normal life. Then I saw "The Last King of Scotland", which meant seeing James McAvoy's bare ass and a fleeting glimpse of his tadger. NAKED SCOTSMAN!!!! WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOT!!! Tell me, is there some rule that all Scottish actors MUST appear naked in a movie or on stage at some time? I mean, Ewan McGregor has done so several times, Billy did it recently, now James, and Alan's doing it nightly in "Bent" in London. Amen! *G* Then I saw Elijah Wood in one of the 20 brief movies that made of "Paris Je T'aime" (sorry about the spelling), an homage to Paris. I wouldn't have seen it if lilithlotr hadn't decided to go stand in line to wait for "rush" tickets (i.e., a chance to take up any seats that aren't taken). It was showing as part of the Chicago International Film Festival. And, I can now proudly say something I've always been dying to say: Vamp!Lij IS canon. Yes, he IS!!!! *LOL*!!!!

Now the bad breakout on my face is probably because of tension. I signed a contract on a house about 2 weeks ago, after a looooong time of searching, and have been going through the inspection process, and found one very large and expensive problem. On the one hand, at least I found it now, and can ask the sellers for it, and if they say yes, that's better than finding out later. On the other hand, a large part of me is hoping it kills the deal and I get my money back, because I'm now wishing I'd gone for a less expensive, smaller, less nice house. I can afford this one, but I think I'd rather spend less and save more money. There's one out there that I should be able to go for if thsi one doesn't work out. We'll see how it turns out, but, yes, stressful.

So, that's me, and that's why I've been quiet. The cats are doing quite well, amazingly enough; work... has its ups and downs and still is a bit stomach-clenching, but I'm taking it day by day; and I'm lucky to have friends to go out to movies with, watch LOST with (*G* did that the week or so before with psyknife, and go to concerts with. I get to see 30 Seconds to Mars TWICE this weekend (once in Chicago and once in Indy), and Common Rotation here in Chicago this coming week, with hobbitgrrl and aliste! So, despite the earlier and earlier sunsets and the cool wet weather, it's not been too bad. Just cross your fingers for me and hope that, first of all, this outbreak stops SOON, and second of all, all goes okay with house hunting, one way or the other.

helllo!! .... I've been quiet too .. because I AM dead ... slowly getting back to life though!

You have lots of fun stuff coming up and
Uncommon Ground so soon! meep - I hope you appreciate the fact that we let them leave :( we miss them so very much *sniff*

so those magic remedies that are supposed to dispel cold sores at the first sign of a tingle - which are all over our tv screens here again (the season is upon us!) are rubbish huh?

Alan only gets his bum out :)

Good luck with the house thing!!

*hugs to kitties*

You're dead? Sorry to hear that! Overdose of Common Rotation? *G* ((((hugs)))

Awwww... I bet they wish they could stay. Maybe next time you'll borrow the caravan and have them stay over a night? And they can oooh and ahhh over the snails? *ggl* Can you believe it???? It was this time 3 years ago that I was at your house! I have great memories of there. I hope Lucy still does her "head hanging over the arm of the chair trick"... and I hope your shower head hasn't broken - *L*!

Well, there IS something called Denavir that requires a prescription that DOES work if you put it on right at the start - but all this moving means I have no doctor, and there wouldn't have been the chance to go to one, anyway. I've been using over the counter Abreva like mad - hasn't done a thing!

*ggl* "gets his bum out" Nice phrase, that!

Thanks!

they killed me.... bet they aren't even sorry! heee .. Aww I can't believe you are seeing them so soon again. Hope they enjoyed their trip over here half as much as we did.

Three years indeed - craaaaazy! *looks at Lucy* - she DOES do it - but now it is midnight and she's sprawled in the armchair asking me to stop typing so she can sleep.

you like that phrase? hee - have it, use it at will!

Ohhhh, the house thing sounds like a major stresser. No wonder you have cold sores! You poor thing, make sure you get your rest. I do hope it works out for you. If it makes you feel any better, we started wishing the deal on our house down here in Georgia would fall through as well, because we were panicking about the price and the cost of moving, etc. Now that we are in we love it and are prepared to shell out anything just to stay!

*heeheehee!* I was wondering if you would reply to this! But, wait... not ONE word on a naked Mr. Tumnus?!

It's funny; I've really been trying not to let it stress me out, because no matter how it turns out, it's okay. I think it's just the prospect of negotiating, and possibly having to make a tough decision that is stressful.

Thanks - that does make me feel better - *G*. And I'm so glad you're liking it there!

WOOOOOOOOO indeed! *L*!

He was really quite good in this, I thought. His character is charming, well-intentioned, but naive in the beginning... then gets a bit seduced by the headiness of being best buddies with the head of a country... then finds out the bitter side of it all. I didn't realize what blue eyes he had until I saw this.

But, of course, it's not a "happy" film, with the terrible things going on in the background, and he's not always a "nice" character; he doesn't always think about the consequences of his actions on others.

Wow, I hope the house thing turns out the way you want. A host of cold sores is never a pleasant thing. And yes, I think there is a clause in the Scottish Actors' Union which states 'And ye all shall appear stark nekkid at some point in yer career. Go forth and share with the world!'

I know what you mean about "buyers remorse" when it comes to a house, but for all of that it turned out I was very happy with my decision. Sorry to hear there's an expensive problem to go with it, but at least you did find out while the sellers can be asked to pay for it. *hugs*

Ooooo!

The Prestige? I haven't even heard about that one; I'll have to check it out!

Thanks so much for the invites, but I really don't feel like socializing, what with the way my mouth feels right now. I really appreciate it, though. And, actually, I'm going to see concerts on Friday and Saturday, if I feel up to it. Fortunately, they're in the dark!

But we can comment on LOST via LJ when it's over - *G*.

Soooo many parallels to what I've had going on wow. I recently made an offer only to retract it due to thoughts like yours. Best of luck! :)

Really? Thanks! It's worked out great; I made a bid on the other house and it was accepted. Now I just have to hope there are no surprises with the inspection.

Best of luck to you, too! Hope the right one is just around the corner for you.

Glad to hear it! Best wishes on the rest of the process. *crosses fingers*

Thanks!! I had found another listing that interested me but it'd gone under contract. Turns out it's available again and we went to check it out today. So far so good! We'll see. :)

Ooo! Glad it's open again. But make sure it isn't because of anything that came up in the inspection - *G*. Good luck!
