Busy, with a threat of picspam in the next few days... *G*
Okay, so I got back from Chicago an hour ago, got through my emails, and need to go to bed to leave here at 7 am for a photo workshop down in Bloomington, IN at 9 am. *groan* But, as far as I can tell, the interview went well; I came away feeling good about the job, if I'm offered it, and I feel that both they and I got to ask the questions we wanted to ask, and it felt as if they liked what they heard. Then again, I remember interviewing at two companies waaaay back when I first started, and the company where I thought I interviewed well didn't offer me a job, and the one where I thought I interviewed poorly did! *L*! So it's in the hands of fate at this point, and be assured, just as Tig said about her audition, that I'll let you know as soon as I hear anything one way or the other.

I finally downloaded my little point and shoot that I bought to sneak into the TMBG concert way back when (late summer last year?) and used all the way to the 30STM concert last week, so I want to do a picspam of about 5 great concerts I've been to, and also include a few representative songs, so people who don't know the bands can find out if they'd like them, too.

How do I do that? i.e., Assuming I'm completely brainless about mp3's and such (because I am), what exact steps would I need to take, starting with the CD in my hand, and ending up with posting a file on www.yousendit.com. I think I tried this once before, and what I posted there wouldn't play. Anybody out there who can help me with this? BTW, the bands I'll be posting about will be:

1) TMBG (and some guy named Corn Mo... *G*)
2) Nickel Creek
(possibly Brendon Benson, but I really already posted pics of him; I took them with my good camera)
3) KT Tunstall
4) Common Rotation
5) 30 Seconds to Mars

And can I just say what a blast it was to listen to KT Tunstall, Common Rotation, 30 Seconds to Mars, and another band, Del Amitri, in my car coming back from Chicago - because I've seen them all in concert? SQUEEEEEE!!!! *G*

The songs on a CD are encoded in AIFF format, so you have to use some kind of music software to rip it to your computer in mp3 form. I use iTunes, and sothe rest of this might not be too applicable if you don't have iTunes, but it's a free download (even for Windows)
1) Put CD in computer and open iTunes
2) File -> Preferences -> Advanced -> Importing
3) Set "Import Using:" to MP3 encoder, if it's not already.
4) Import CD (button in top right corner)
5) Now you have to find where your computer stores the files. Doing a search for "iTunes" in the file names should turn up a folder called "iTunes Music Library"
6) Inside that music will be sorted by Artist, then Album. Your mp3s are in there!
7) As long as you know where it is, you should be able to just find it on the yousendit file finder when you go to upload it. If you don't think you'll be able to, though, you can move the file to the desktop or somewhere you know you'll be able to find it.
8) Upload to yousendit, and put your email address in the "send file to" blank
9) Yousendit will send you an email with the link

Like I said, if you have some other music player you should be able to rip CDs to mp3s. Just check your preferences in the program to make sure it's set for mp3 encoding, and you should be fine.
