Bits and bobs...
Odds and ends:

*ggl* I remember watching this Daily Show interview and thinking '"oh, god, didn't Blagojevich know this interview was for The Daily Show?" Well, apparently, according to this article (http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20060223/ap_on_en_tv/governor_daily_show), he didn't. *L*! So funny seeing a Chicago politician again. Especially a young "golden boy" of politics.

Most importantly - are all folks who appreciate Billy out there aware that he's been involved in the opening of the new National Theatre of Scotland? The opening event is 10 simultaneous performances in 10 places in Scotland (mostly places that don't traditionally get theatre, like housing projects, a ferry, etc.), and Billy is performing in Easterhouse, a housing project area that he grew up in. The projects are called HOME, because they explore the meaning of "home". His is especially interesting: it all takes place inside an apartment building, and is filmed by camerament climbing (abseiling) the walls. The audience is outside, watching it on screens. bam_a_lam is from Texas, but is currently in Glasgow going to school, so she's been keeping up to date on this, and posting relevant stories, etc. on squishy_media. Check it out - it's such a neat project. She's also lucky enough to have gotten a ticket and will be watching it; it will be on at the end of this month.

Question: is there an EASY way to tell if a journal is f-locked? Or is the only way to check their info page, or their full journal page? I keep putting up links without realizing it's for a friends-locked journal, and don't know it.

I've noticed. {chuckle, SMILE}

I don't know of a way to tell if a journal is friends-locked in general, unless the user mentions it in their journal or user-info. However, you can tell if an individual post is locked by looking for a little padlock picture next to the title. Here; I just made a demonstration post for you. See the little padlock next to "Testing...."? {Smile}

I decided to do it that way so I could be sure it has just a general friends-lock on it, not a custom lock you couldn't see. {smile} LJ doesn't have a separate symbol for custom locks, so it's hard to tell how tightly locked a post is. However, you can tell if it's open to general reading or not this way. {SMILE}

Haha, I was actually just about to post about that Blagojevich article (actually, I probably still will, heh). I, too, saw that interview and thought it was great. :D

PS: funny you should mention Hobnobs, because I a webcomic I read recently did a mini story arc (if you could call it that) about them! It starts here and continues through 2/16 (see the calendar under the comic).

*pout* I keep getting an error message!

If I remember correctly, they're like oatmeal cookies, only crunchy. *G*

Me? I like the chocolate-covered digestive biscuits... mmmm.... lived on them in Scotland!

And they came to mind because of a slash story I was reading... *reddens*.

Hmm that's weird, it works find for me. The main site is http://www.sheldoncomics.com
and then there should be a calendar; the thing about Hobnobs starts on the 13th.

I bet that is Griffin! For some reason I always pictured him different because I was basing him on this article I read. But I think (now that I look at it closer) the pic in that article is just a generic one of a springer spaniel, not Billy's Griffin.

I can't wait for the reports of HOME to start rolling in. That's going to be such an interesting performance.

I agree - such cute eyes on the puppy!

You know, the only bad thing (and, yet, the unique thing) about theatrical performances is that they're not recorded.

Yet, if all of this is seen by the audience, on screens... is it possible they would also be recording it?

And that we might see it one day?

Smaaaaaalllll chance - but, maybe!
