This and that...
All Nathan Lane fans - he and Matthew Broderick will be on the "Actor's Studio", tonight, I believe (in about 15 minutes!) - which will also be about the movie "The Producers".

Good Dork Tower comic (http://www.livejournal.com/users/dorktowerfeed/77238.html)- PLUS, did you all know about the "new" character Disney is thinking of replacing Christopher Robin with, in Winnie the Pooh? That's what Dork Tower is parodying in the second comic. For more, see this - with extra added Neil Gaiman goodness!: http://www.livejournal.com/users/officialgaiman/246489.html. As one person put it: "I can see the next step already, piglet will become a metro-sexual." *L*!

Gilly - I couldn't resist reading "Good Omens" again - *G*. Even better the second or third time around. Only, I keep wanting to cast Billy as Aziraphale and Dom as Crowley... but while Dom is great as Crowley, I'm not sure about Billy as Aziraphale... But David Hyde-Pierce would be perfect! *L*!

What else? We got tons of snow here - about 6 inches - and it's been staying cold - so cross your fingers and hope that the ice dam developing on my roof melts soon!

And I saw "Narnia" - what a great job they did! The kids were just perfect, and, like everybody else, I adore Mr. Tumnus. It did feel strange seeing this as an adult... seemed a little too much like a child's wish-fulfillment; less like a revelation. But the look and feel of the wardrobe, the snowy wood, the grown-up kids - all wonderful! *S* Say... is that Alanis Morissette singing at the end?!

Thought of the day: Poor Gene Wilder... do you realize that two of his most movie classic roles have both been high-profile remakes THIS year? First "Willy Wonka" was re-done as "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory"... now we're going to get "The Producers" movie. I mean, imitation IS the most sincere form of flattery, but... when a new version comes out, it also tends to reduce viewing of the original. Poor Gene! Because he was an absolute genius at both. Come to think of it, he's really been quite the innovator when it comes to acting. His character in "Young Frankenstein"... "Blazing Saddles"... amazing.

It is! I stayed thru the credits and saw her name come up.

I saw it this evening. Twas good. (-: Lucy and Mr. Tumnus were both just adorable.

But I imagine it's just a matter of time before there is a Mr. Tumnus/Edward prison slash community, if it's not out there already.(-;

Oh man, I [heart] Gene Wilder so much. He is amazing. Yeah, I've still not seen the new Charlie and the Chocolate Factory; don't know if/when I will.

Man, I need a Young Frankenstein icon... :D

*L*! You do!

And third reason this is not Gene's year? The passing of Richard Pryor on Saturday, of course... And I didn't realize until today that Richard Pryor had written part of Blazing Saddles. Makes you wonder why he didn't play the sheriff! (Don't know if you ever saw Blazing Saddles, but it's about a black sheriff coming to a white town; the actor who played him, Cleavon Little, was excellent)

There'll NEVER be remakes of Young Frankenstein or Blazing Saddles so Gene will continue immortal, I'm sure.

Meanwhile, ACK! I forgot about the Dark Shadows icons! Sorry, I will certainly get to those today.

Nope, I can't take the time or the expense to go. Sigh. When I'm independently wealthy, though, I'll fly out in my jet and meet all of ya'll!

One of these days, I'm going to make a little map and put pins where everybody is! *G*

We have more than the usual snow here in Indy, right now. Got about 6 inches last week, and it's been hanging on due to cold temperatures. Got some melt yesterday, but today, it's snowing a bit again. I'm hoping the ice dams on my roof go away this weekend. *crosses fingers*

It hasn't stopped snowing for three days here. I'm rather enjoying it. But then I don't drive and I don't have sidewalks to shovel or roofs that get too weighed down. Walkin' in a winter wonderland!

Not one that I'm responsible for! However, I AM on the top floor of my apartment building so I guess I shouldn't be so nonchalant about the possibility of the ceiling caving in. (Still snowing!)
