LOST Thoughts
Cut for spoilers...

"Are we saved yet?"

"No, Sawyer, not yet."

Well, that's an understatement. Even before she called him Wayne, I kept thinking "so scuzzy Sawyer is Wayne, and judgemental Jack is like her military father.

Interesting... so Kate's problem... is self-hate. And, perhaps, hatred of being trapped, in any way shape of form.m But to hate herself so much that she kills her step-father/father? Why not just move the hell away from there, like you think she's doing when you see her hop on her motorcycle and drive off in the beginning. And it still doesn't explain the small metal airplane. Anybody remember what she said about it - was it her father's?

"What are the odds?" It's not coincidence or fate... I'm sure the cute piece was there for a reason. *G*

I knew it. The horse. God, it's a beauty! Whew.

*L*! Clever Jack, to remember Ana Lucia's drink.

Oh, man... is Micheal going to cut the power before the new clip shows up. Love the looks Eko and Locke give each other. Hmmmm... Eko... Locke... Eko is almost Locke spelled backwards.

DAD?!?!?!?!?! MY BOY@@@@@@ Go, Walt!!!!!!!

Oh, damn, Charlie's secret is going to come out. Interesting....

Didn't the plane belong to Tom, or whatever his name was? It was one of the things they'd put in their time capsule, I think.

My favorite line was: "Boy, when you say you're going to start from the beginning, you really start from the beginning."

I'd forgotten about him... I was thinking she had a brother, but there ther wasn't one there - was he her brother? Boyfriend?

*ggl* Yeah - that was a great Locke line - *L*!

But who IS this Eko guy? What did he do back in the real world?

I loved Eko's comment to Locke: 'Be careful you don't mistake coincidence for fate." (or something like) I'm like Yeah! Take that Locke!

Wow, do you think that was the real Walt? Or a ghost thing. Because everyone seems to be seeing apparitions lately.

Great previews for next week!

Well, anything they see that they don't believe, they tend to call a ghost. Like the horse. *G*

The horse is so beautiful. Almost looks Andelusian ?

Still looks like there could be more of the film missing tho.

I thought that she kept the airplane as special due to it being her friend's plane. The one who was killed in the car when she was escaping the hospital. But I could be mistaken.

Eko & Locke interesting. And the irony of Rose & Bernard? Black & white? hmmmmmm.

the mystery grows.......

Definitely a lot more of the film out there... to come, I'm sure!

Darn... that might be right, but boy there's a lot more missing from Kate's story, of course.

Well, Locke pointed out the serendipity of the whole thing. Two pieces being brought together: the tailies with the folks from the front of the plane, the missing strip of film from the main strip. And Eko is pretty obviously the tailies' Locke. I'm betting he is/was a priest of some kind in his backstory.

well you do get the feeling that Eko is very spiritual.

I'm just wondering who is the one who smashes the statue.

If it's Eko, I might wonder if he had something to do with the Nigerians dressed as priests smuggling the drugs.

Ah, but I don't think it's serendipity. There are, what, a handful of "sites" on the Island? And I'm betting each has parts of the film. So, since the two parts of the plane landed in different parts of the island... not that unlikely at all! *G*

But, yes, Eko definitely has a strong character, like Locke. And he seems to be a man of faith, but in a different way from Locke.

So... is the film... their "blueprint" for building a temple (a new society on the island)?

I almost never watch these in their entirety, but I do think that was Mackenzie Astin's plane. Of course, there might be a lot more of that story yet to tell, as well.

Locke and Eko are sort of weird echoes of each other - wow, echo, eko, locke.

It was a good one tonight, eh? I thought the best of the season so far (thank god Rodriguez was kept off the screen for the bulk of it-- I literally find her unwatchable). You mentioned that look Eko and Locke shared... that was priceless. And the typing on the computer screen was completely unexepected to me. It had a lot of the flavour of S1, I hope they can build on it, because I was seriously giving up on it.

Were you? It's interesting, isn't it - now, compared to the other tribe (sorry - Survivor language - *G*), it makes it look like the first one was having a resort vacation, doesn't it? I wasn't really losing interest, but it was seeming less suspenseful, perhaps for that reason. And Charlie's just being damned annoying and self-centered - he just "jars", you know? I'm hoping that's on purpose and going somewhere towards a conflict and/or change in character. With the bust up of the Mary statue shown in the previews of next week, I'm hopeful.

On the other hand - *meep*! - I think I'm worried that House has hit its peak. They've made him more "annoying for no reason" this season. Again, perhaps they're taking that somewhere, but it's hard to tell. How are you feeling about it?

Oh ya, I only had it on this week out of habit, whereas last year I wouldn't miss an episode. About 1 or 2 eps into S2, I couldn't believe how boring it got. The only one I liked was the one about Jin and Sun. And then HER... they featured M. Rodriguez so much, and she is SO laughably bad, I couldn't take it anymore. The capper was her featured ep, and her dumber than shit storyline with her ma as her police captain. After last week, I was totally put off. Thanks gods for some hoyay, Sayid angst and crazy island stuff this week (not to mention Sawyer finally gets to speak again).

House is suffering as well. The whole Stacy business reduces him to a poorly written 12-year old borderline stalker. The assinine plot where he sat in on Mark's therapy and then read her confidential files was an eye-roller. Pul-ease. They've gotta pull back, and make him a little more sympathetic. Maybe Foreman will give House the bitch-slap he desperately needs right now.

The one thing I am glad about is that Wilson is getting some fleshing out. I like it when he is serious with House, but we've only seen one serious ep (Autopsy) with him and House interacting. Serious!Wilson is now reserved for other characters, while it's mostly Laurel and Hardy when those two are together on screen. I liked their slightly reserved chemistry better in S1.

So far Autopsy and The Mistake are my fav eps from this year. And last night's Lost and the Jin/Sun are up there on the list. I hope both shows can stop trying so hard, and regain their footing soon.

Agreed... let's hope the writers stick to good writing, and the directors recognize it.

I know what you mean about Wilson. In fact, he's sort of House's moral conscience, isn't he? His "Jiminy Cricket", so to speak. He knows when House is just being his acerbic self, and when he's gone overboard, and isn't afraid to call him on it. And usually House listens... because if he doesn't, Wilson will cut him cold - and then who would House have to talk to?

Now I need to make a Wilson icon with "Jiminy Cricket" under his face. *G* I think I already have one of him as the "(some famous baseball player) of doctors", as the baseball player called him when he gave him an autograph. *G*

"So, Rose's husband is white. Didn't see that coming" I love Hurley... haha.

The minute Michael typed his name onto the computer I shouted out... "It's Walt... it's gonna be Walt!" And then... "Dad?" I was right! I think that's the first time I've guessed anything before it happened on this show.

Woohooo!!!! Points for you! *G* It didn't occur to me. In fact, I was assuming he was talking to somebody "out there"... or that the computer had come alive - *L*!

So... care to explain the monster, the polar bear and the horse now? *G*
