Sean Astin is coming to town! *falls over*
abandonada just told me that Sean's going to be a presenter at the Heartland Film Festival, here in Indy, this weekend! There's a black tie awards ceremony on Saturday that he'll be presenting at. And... you can buy tickets ($35) to attend!

But, no, I won't be there. Sorry. I have a ticket to see Elvis Costello the very same night! Plus, it's in a big field house where they probably won't allow cameras, and I'll be very far away. *sigh* But... I wonder, since it IS black tie, if there will be a "red carpet"? Here's the link: http://www.heartlandfilmfest.org/2005/

Also, I went to imdb to see if Sean looked to be in any of the films, but I don't think he is. Perhaps he decided to do this because this is a film festival that promotes films with heart, that have a positive message. And, because his wife's family is in Indiana. *S* But... why wouldn't they show "Smile" here? That would be perfect for this! Anyway, I was looking and... this man is way too busy! Look at his schedule (and this is in addition to "24"):

Before the Devil Knows You're Dead (2005) (announced) .... Bobby
Mark Twain's Greatest Adventure: 'It's a Matter of Time' (2005) (pre-production) .... H.G. Wells
Cat Tale (2006) (filming) (voice) .... Rover
The Final Season (2006) (filming) .... Kent Stock
Borderland (2005) (filming) .... Randall
Click (2006) (filming) .... Bill Rando
Thanks to Gravity (2005) (post-production) .... Coach Amal

And didn't they just say he'd be in "Wicker Man" (starting up again, apparently)?

I know, it's pretty dangerous to invite a vampire in your house - but would you. Mabe next weekend? I would love to visit you ... *S*

I hope there will be some pictures next weekend. I need some new pics of him.

Thanks for the news

*L*! Anytime, Cat, anytime... but isn't it dangerous for them to cross running water? *G*

Noooo... I don't think so. I think this is about a few people traveling through time, such as Mark Twain. Although... maybe there was an H.G. Wells? Anyway, I do think it has a different plot.

Maybe they won't show SMILE because it's already been released on DVD?

I did indeed and was surprised it was out already. It was at Walmart for $14.95. On the same shelf as Sean's Hercules and Into the West.

Awwww... that's right, you'd know about that, from working at the Symphony Center, wouldn't you?

A corporate event? How odd!

If he's never put it out, how do you know of it? Is it something he only sings in concerts, or something he wrote that somebody else recorded?

I'll keep an ear out for it! Thanks.

He recorded it specifically for the Autopsy episode of House. They play Aguilara's version at the top of the show, and Costello's version at the end. The only thing I can find on the net is the tv rip, but I much prefer his version and I hope he puts it ona disc.

Pity you won't see him! But hey, not like you haven't met him before, just this would have been a different context:)

I know... but I wish there were some kind of "arrival" that I could go and watch! Because that would still allow me time to get to the concert. *G*

whooooooooooooooooooooooohooooo Elvis Costello!!! I'm strangely way more jealous of that than your close proximity to Mister A :)

Are they STILL talking up that Wicker Man "sequal"?
