"Nothing... I just didn't realize we were doing British accents"
Oh, that's brilliant! Zach Braff (Scrubs) and Hugh Laurie (House) are presenting the Emmy for Best Supporting Actress, so Hugh starts speaking in his normal British accent, and I'm thinking "I wonder how many people watching this realize he's not putting this on as a joke", and Zach stares at him and gives the quote above - *L*! And, you know what? It really did sound like Hugh was putting it on, after hearing him with an American accent for so long.
BTW, I just finished reading "The Gun Seller", Hugh Laurie's book, and, I swear, I kept hearing the main character's voice in House's voice. Even though the main character was British! But he had that same snarky, but with a heart of gold, attitude. It was the attitude and some very clever wording/writing that made it worthwhile, and you cared about the character. On the other hand, it was basically one of those "Bourne Identity" kind of books - good guy who is abnormally competent ends up in a situation where everybody's after him - so you go crazy trying to keep track of people and figure out what's going on. In fact, I'm still not quite sure about the ending - so if anybody out there has read this book - I want to talk to you! *S*
