Exhibit Continued
Sorry, guys, I had the date for Columbus Day mixed up in my previous entry, so I've gone back and fixed it. Please see it again: http://www.livejournal.com/users/rosamundeb/207090.html

Basically, I'm going to ask Ninq and Dee to pick a Family Weekend, when their two families can both make it, and when we can plan around the kids. If anybody else wants to come that weekend, they're welcome, as long as they realize it will be kid-oriented - *G*.

I'm not hearing of a critical mass of people yet for another moot weekend; so far, other than the families, I've only heard from Kunga and Graewolf that they're interested. For them, how about coming on Oct. 29? That's the weekend Abandonada and Rakshi are coming down. They're planning on staying in a hotel, but perhaps I can talk them out of it - *G*. Either way, it's a nice plus to be able to meet up with them! Or, just pick a weekend and come on down, if you want to keep it loose.

Anybody else? Remember, you can keep it loose, but right now I'm trying to see if we can get a moot together, so we'd need to plan ahead for that.

Thanks!

I think . . . yes, perhaps . . . I can make it Halloween weekend. Looks like I can take that Friday off if I want (the 28th) if I come home on Sunday (the 30th). And airfare looks to be about $168 to Indianapolis, which is even better. I'd love to see you and Rakshi again, and I've never met Abandonada.

*eep!* I might actually be talking myself into this.

You know... transportation is so much easier when you don't have to worry about arranging a time to meet and driving over to a hotel to meet at all.

Yes, I have used that argument (successfully) to get the guest room used as a guest room for a change. {BIG SMILE}

I found out that the kids don't have school on Friday the 7th either - it's parent-teacher conferences. So if I can swing a day off as well, that weekend is looking better and better.

Dee?

Oh no, thank you.
Doublechecking with Boo as well.

We just had a moot, and I'm already psyched for the next. Of course, we had no Rosamunde at the last, so that's probably why.

You're welcome. However...
He has informed me today that the weekend of the 8-9th is the weekend that he will be on call, and also that he doesn't think the shireling can handle that long of a trip or a bunch of grisly orc armor. :-/ overprotective daddy, perhaps? So I don't know what to do next. He says the other weekends in October are no trouble as far as being able to get away is concerned. *befuddled*

Awwwwww... It IS a long trip, though - too bad it's longer for you than for Ninq in Chicago.

The other option is to wait until a week before you come, some time in October, and then try to get tickets. But I honestly don't know how fast they're going, or how feasible that will be.

The old poll showed the 15th and 22nd as the most popular - want to try for one of those?

And, as to the Orc Armor - well, she can always be steered away from that! *G* Has she actually seen any of the movies?

Nope, she hasn't seen any part of it other than Bilbo's birthday party.
I'll see what I can figure out. :-/
And again, *echoing Ninque* thanks for coordinating all this. *G*

Well, I don't know what her car tolerances are, but we took SB to Vermont when he was 15 mos. old, Toronto when he was four, and Columbus right before he turned six. *shrug* Just, you know, throwing it out there. YMMV.

Toronto was more of a trial for me than him, as I wanted to go very very slowly through the exhibit and he wanted to race through. I don't remember anything scary.

Boo can't make it on the 15th due to a rehearsal, so if we're still trying for a family-type weekend, the 22nd would be better. Otherwise... we'd still be looking at the 8th.

*hugs all 'round*

Hey, maybe the 22nd would be a possibility for family weekend! I know Shireling would be very disappointed to miss SB, and I would definitely not want to miss you!

I know the feeling of different exhibit-viewing speeds. But if the trip can be taken with an almost-6-yearold, I'm up for trying it. Our kids seem to be very similar in temperament and such like - so thank you for the input! :):):)

9P.S. What does YMMV mean? *is brain dead tonight*)

If I do go, I want to go when the families do! :) :) :)
I hope I'll know what's up soon... plus, I need to see if Sara, Liz, Steve, or any other Chicagoans are going so we can carpool.

Eee, just getting back to this.

OK! It'll have to be the 22nd - I'll check again with Boo. Maybe he can switch his requested day off. He is interviewing for a posish Friday - don't know if getting it would affect anything. I'll let you know.

He plays in the Oak Park/River Forest Symphony; his director is a trombonist in the CSO and an award-winning conductor. They're pretty awesome. The thing on the 15th is rehearsal for an honest-to-God salon in some ritzy part of downtown in November - they're having a poet and historian speak, and Boo's quartet will play. Nice life!

Any weekend works for us EXCEPT the 8th... my sweetie has a seminar that weekend that she can't miss (her optician's license will lapse if she misses it). If it DOES end up being that weekend (the moot I mean), I might be able to get someone else to drive there with me (a fellow LOTR geek who has the hots for Viggo)... so I guess at this point, I'd just need a firm date so I can ask for that Friday off work as soon as I can. THANK YOU for all your coordination and so forth.... :-)

At this point I think there will be multiple moots... *G* There will be a "family" moot weekend, where a couple of friends with kids will attend... right now, it looks liek the 22nd. If you'd like, you could come then, or wait until the 28th so you can see Rakshi and Abandonada. And for some reason, I was thinking that somebody else might be coming that wekend...

I remembered after I sent that email that my brother Jim's 60th birthday is the 28th... so the 22nd would be the best choice for us. Plus, my Grove (I'm pagan) will probably be celebrating Samhain on the 29th, so I need to be in town for that... Thank you once again for this. Now all I need to know is -- how much do you need, and when?

Let me see... looks like you'll be part of the big moot, then... *S*. I'm going to put a calendar up on my info page to doublecheck when people are coming. *S* Cool!
