Potpourri...
ARRRRGH! Damn LJ ate my entry, so now it will be ultrashort - *grumps*.

Thank you TIG!!!!!! Can I post a photo of your Frodo drawing here??? *G*

Great HUGE spoilers of the new Star Wars film at greenghost's LJ; actually drew me in!

Hyel - hot pic of Miranda on TORn (from an article in the magazing Hot Dog).

Any suggestions for the two other songs to request to play in a trio of songs along with "Indie Rockin'" by Common Rotation? I'd like one of them to be a Travis one...

And Keller Williams ("Freeker by the Speaker") is going to be playing here tomorrow night - may go to see him. Sounds like a complete NUT! *L*! Never heard it? Look it up on Amazon.com (album name is "Laugh"), and here are the lyrics:

"human dreidel spinning around
how do you not dizzy out and fall down
is that what happens when you feel the sound
but if that was me I would be on the ground

I would not get up
I would dance on my back
throw my legs up in the air like I don't care
and wave them from side to side
then I'd bust into a windmill
then right into a back spin

*freeker right by the speaker
never seem to get enough
priceless expression when space is possession
like yeah, that's the stuff
electronic stereophonic
coming from the left and the right
it's good in the day
I like it that way
but it's perfectly normal at night

rave girl with a lollipop binky
and a face full of metal
her eyes as wide as a truck
and somebody just floored the pedal
her mental clearance is high
but the overpass is low
she ducks her head
and holds on tight
when she gets through she lets go
'cause she's a tweeker

*chorus

yellow shirt bouncers gather in the corner
feels like the room just got a little warmer
pointing at you what up with that
but don't worry, yo, I got your back
but one of them dudes is as big as the both of us
big 'ole arms, big as a schoolbus
looks like he could snap us in two
I ain't got no gun, so I think we should run

I don't know about you
spinning around
how do you not dizzy out and fall down
ahhh, that's what happens when you feel the sound
but if that was me I would be on the ground
I would not get up
I would dance on my back
throw my legs up in the air like I don't care
and wave them from side to side
then I'd bust into a windmill
and right into a back spin"

And, from finabair, 10 Things I've Done That You Probably Haven't!

1) Watched a grizzly mom and her cubs from 20 feet away in the wild
2) Had cheetahs jump on and under a Land Rover I was in
3) Watched a snowball fight between costumed "colonials" in Williamsburg, VA
4) Posed hobbit action figures in front of Stonehenge
5) Snorkeled off of Costa Rica
6) Fiddled with Phil Sutherland
7) Played old time music in a band called the Red-Topped Sandhill Cranes
8) Performed in a clog-dancing group
9) Competed in... yes... German folkdancing... *facepalms*
10) Saw Billy Boyd in Canada!

Sure... some pony pals have already seen it, though, because I posted it in a filter for them to see before I mailed it to you. I'm so sneaky :) :) :) But, sure, feel free to post it. So, you really like it? I'm honored :)
You are so very welcome for the pressies :) You deserve them after all you've done for me.

Oh!

The station I listened to just started a "Select-a-Set" feature: you send in a set of three songs and they pick one set to play each day at about 5:45. They can be three with a theme, three you like, three that sound good together - any three you want, although, of course, the more "neat" the choices in terms of cleverness, obscurity, or just plain amazing, the more likely they'll be played. For example, yesterday's was a Wizard of Oz theme: "Scarecrow in the Rain" by John Mellencamp; "She's a Rainbow" by the Rolling Stones; and "Goodbye, Yellow Brick Road" by Elton John. *G*

So... I want to do a set called "Indy Rockin'" (since I live in Indy, the nickname for Indianapolis). Of course, one song would be "Indie Rockin'", by Common Rotation. But what should the other two be? And, for maximum effect, should CoRo's song be first, middle or last? You see, they don't play CoRo on the station, but if it gets played and people call up and say "hey, what is that cool song? what band is that?", then... who knows? *G*

Right now I'm thinking of the other two songs being one by Guster (who I heard courtesy of the radio station sponsoring a concert) and one by Travis (who doesn't get played on the station). So then you have to ask... should they be fast tempo, slow tempo, as different as possible? Can they be related to Indy or Rockin'? I think there's a song with Circle in the title by Travis... and Indy is also called Circle City, so... *G*.

Any ideas?
