Back!
Miss me? *G* I was only gone overnight, to a graduation party for a friend, up in Chicago. But I'm way behind on my f-list - sorry.

Feel wierd tonight, though... like I've forgotten something, or - hate to say it - like something bad is about to happen (!). No idea why, though. Had a beautiful morning out on the prairie, listened to great music on the way back, the cats were fine when I arrived home, took a nap, saw "Shaun of the Dead" (*G* - a clever, funny - and surprisingly sweet - movie), and - here I am! Oh - a couple of good movie previews: "Motorcycle Diaries" - about a 5-month motorcycle trip Che Guevera took when he was young, with a friend, to explore South America; and "Sleep When I'm Dead" with Clive Owen (whoooot!). Now I'm off to imdb to see why Shaun, Shaun's girlfriend, and another minor character looked familiar... *G* Oh - and Bill Nighy got a big response the instant he showed up on-screen - *L*!

Until next time: "Who died and made YOU fuckin' King of the Zombies?!"

And, of course: "Kill the Queen!"

*G*

NEWSFLASH!!!!! Yes, everything DOES come back to LOTR - guess what movie Kate Ashfield (Shaun's girlfriend) is in? Yep, she plays Jenny, the lead female character in - SPIVS! Which - hey - came out this weekend in England! Anybody over there seen it yet?

Oh, and:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
[looking through Shaun's LPs for suitable records to throw at two approaching zombies]
Ed : Purple Rain.
Shaun : No.
Ed : Stone Roses.
Shaun : Definitely not.
Ed : The Batman soundtrack?
Shaun : Throw it.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ed : We're coming to get you, Barbara!

(I'm so ashamed that I didn't get the line above when I saw the movie - it's from the ORIGINAL Night of the Living Dead!!!!! *G*)

something bad is about to happen.

I am writing in your lj ..muwhahahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa.

*ahem*

You don't have any friends you simley NEED to visit in Chicago at the same time Sean is doing his signing I suppose?! *G*

The reviews for Spivs are bad .. they reckon it's a comedy that just doesn't hit the mark. It's only on in selected areas and the closest to me would be London .. think I'll wait o hire the DVD!

Bill Nighy Rocks!

*facepalms* Silly English person! You don't "hire" a DVD - you RENT it! *ggl* Sorry - just brings up this image of bringing a DVD on as an employee... *G*

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Really? Bad "Spivs"? *about-to-cry-face* Oh, well... good damn thing "Lost" is looking good! Darn, though - thought it sounded like a very clever movie.

Am going to try to see Seanie - BUT - it's the same weekend I'm driving in the totally opposite direction to go to a RenFair! So, what - 3 hours east to RenFair on Saturday - then - EEP! - 8 hours west and north to Chicago - and 3 hours back???? Not a good recipe for a restful weekend...

:P!!! *G* Is that what they say in England? "Hire" a tape or DVD? I figured it was just an Englishism... *G*

just remember who has been speaking the language for longest :P *g*

There is actually no verb "rent" in my English Dictionary .. only references to money paid for property and male prostitution! The verb hire however = "to acquire the temporary use of (a thing) or the services of (a person) in exchange for payment" satisfied?? I seem to recall you having the same misgivings when I HIRED the car to take us to Squee4!

*L*! You have a good memory - yes, I did! *G* It really mentions MALE prostitution in particular? My! And no verb "rent" - which gets used by the boatload over here! *G*

Liked "Shaun of the Dead"; must've been a lot of anglophiles there, based on the response Billy Nighy got. *G*
