WTF? A two-LOTR-actor film coming out this weekend that you've probably never heard of...
And that I suspect will sink into oblivion - !

What is it and who's in it? "Vlad", with John Rhys-Davies listed as one of the 3 main actors, and which also starts Brad Dourif. I wonder if JRD is Vlad... hmmmmm...

Here's the synopsis:

Whether or not one believes vampires ever existed, the blood-curdling fact is that in 15th Century Romania, Vlad Drakul – or Vlad the Impaler as he was known - launched a reign of terror so horrific, literally skewering countless victims through the body and skull, that he is viewed by many as the source of the vampire 'myth.'

Now four international graduate students, at the behest of a Bucharest professor (Brad Dourif), embark on a journey to enter the draconian heart of Vlad Drakul's dark past. As suspected by their Romanian guide (Billy Zane), one of the students secretly carries the fabled necklace once buried in Vlad's tomb, possessed of an evil so powerful it transcends time and space.

Don't look for it at your local cinema, though - it's only opening in LA this weekend. Bizarre, though, eh?

Never heard of Vlad.

The small ad in the Los Angeles Times newspaper shows it opening in only eight theaters. And JRD isn't listed in the small write-up. Maybe the review will come out tomorrow in the paper. What does IMDB say...In his bio, he's listed as the narrator.

I'll check the paper tomorrow for the review.

Ah, narrator... still, odd that he had such high billing, then... perhaps he's the voice of Vlad? Thanks for checking! *S*

It almost sounds like something that's going to go to DVD very very fast.
